My watercolor paintings are motivated primarily by Nature's beauty. I allow the unique traits of watercolors to be my guide during the initial wash, and then take more control throughout the final stages of the painting.
I’m a Signature Member of the TN Watercolor Society and have been juried into many shows including statewide traveling exhibits, the Customs House Museum, and Prior Gallery. I even had some of my paintings picked up by Portfolio Arts Group, who publishes art for major retailers worldwide. I grew up in the thriving artist community of Bend OR, but now reside in Watertown TN.
The most recent show I have been involved with was the Art Crawl in Lebanon. I have had my work carried by a retail store in Lebanon as well. I have participated in Octoberfest at the Hermitage where I won best of show in Watercolor. I also won signature membership into the TN Watercolor Society and have had my paintings chosen twice to travel statewide.
Although my mother was an award winning painter, I did not discover my talent as an artist until age 43. After moving to Tennessee in 2006 I took a couple of drawing classes and it grew from there. I discovered watercolor about two years later and never looked back. Watercolor is my primary medium but I like to add in acrylic and India inks and sometime pastels. I paint in a loose manner utilizing lots of water and am ok with loosing control of the process. So many wonderful things happen when you let the watercolors themselves take control.
